The AudioEye Accessibility Statement
Intended audience: Developers & Content Managers
About the AudioEye Accessibility Statement
An accessibility statement is a public declaration that communicates your organization's commitment to digital accessibility. This statement serves as both a transparency tool for users with disabilities and a demonstration of legal compliance in jurisdictions where accessibility standards are mandated.
AudioEye® provides you with an Accessibility Statement that attests to your accessibility efforts, outlines the accessibility standards you strive to meet in partnership with AudioEye, and provides information on the tools and feedback mechanisms available to site visitors. This content is delivered in an embedded iframe, which allows the AudioEye team to update the statement on your behalf as accessibility standards, laws, and regulations evolve.
Customizing Your Accessibility Statement
To customize and add the Accessibility Statement to your website:
- Create a new page on your website with a descriptive title, such as Accessibility.
- Log in to your AudioEye Account on the AudioEye Platform.
- From the site’s Dashboard, activate Site settings in the main navigation, then select Accessibility statement from the submenu.
- Fill in your Brand name, choose your Statement type, and select a Fallback translation in the form on the Accessibility statement page.
- For Statement type, choose EU if your website operates in the European Union; otherwise, choose US. This will set the statement to reflect applicable regional laws and regulations
- Fallback translation sets the default language for the statement in the rare case that a valid language attribute cannot be detected on the page.
- Activate the Copy HTML button to copy the HTML embed code to your clipboard.
- Return to the page you created on your website in Step 1 and paste the HTML embed code that you just copied into the main content area of the page.
- Save these changes.
- In the footer of your website, create a descriptive link, such as Accessibility, that links to the new Accessibility page.
- Save these changes, preview the new Accessibility page, and test that the new Accessibility link in the footer works.
- When you are satisfied with the updates, publish the changes.
Troubleshooting
The process to embed HTML on your site can vary depending on how your site is built. If you are using a CMS with a WYSIWYG editor, you may need to switch from a WYSIWYG view/mode to HTML. If you aren’t sure how to embed HTML on your site, searching your CMS’s help center for instructions on how to embed an iframe should lead you in the right direction.
