Install AudioEye on a WordPress site

AudioEye is easy to install on a WordPress site

Intended Audience: WordPress Administrators

Notice: Sites hosted by WP Engine may currently be blocked from using WordPress assets, including WordPress plugins. AudioEye® recommends that sites hosted by WP Engine follow the instructions to install AudioEye directly or install AudioEye with Google Tag Manager. For installation assistance, please reach out to AudioEye support.

Steps to add AudioEye to a WordPress site

Before beginning:

  1. Log in to the AudioEye Platform or visit AudioEye.com and use the Start Free Trial button at the top of the page to begin a 14-day free trial.

  3. Select WordPress from the Installation methods dropdown.
  4. Copy the site’s AudioEye Site ID using the Copy id button.Screenshot of the Copy id button

WordPress installation:

  1. Log in to WordPress.
  2. In the admin dashboard, select Plugins > Add New Plugin from the main menu.Screenshot of the Add New Plugin link in the Plugins submenu

  5. The Install Now button will reload. When the label changes to Activate, activate the button again.

  6. Activate the AudioEye link that now appears in the main menu.

  7. Paste the AudioEye Site ID you copied earlier into the Enter AudioEye Site ID field and activate the Activate AudioEye button.Screenshot of the Enter AudioEye Site ID field and Activate AudioEye button on the plugin settings page

Verify installation:

  1. Return to the Installation page on the AudioEye Platform.
  2. Activate the Verify Installation button.

  3. From the WordPress editing view, activate the View Page link and locate the AudioEye Accessibility Help Desk button on the website.

    Important: The AudioEye Accessibility Help Desk icon should not be visible within the WordPress editor. If it appears in the editing view, please contact AudioEye support for assistance.

Still having trouble?

  • Verify that the domain registered on the AudioEye Platform matches the domain of the site that AudioEye is being installed on.
  • Note that it may take up to 24 hours after users have visited the site for accessibility monitoring data to start populating on the AudioEye Platform.
  • Users with limited permissions may need to send installation instructions to an administrator. On the Installation page on the AudioEye Platform, activate the Send Instructions button to send instructions to an administrator’s email address.
  • Consider using a different installation method, such as installing AudioEye with Google Tag Manager.
  • If problems continue, please reach out to AudioEye support for installation help.
