AudioEye is easy to install on a Shopify site
Intended Audience: Shopify Administrators
Steps to add AudioEye to a Shopify site
Before beginning:
- Log in to the AudioEye Platform or visit AudioEye.com and use the Start Free Trial button at the top of the page to begin a 14-day free trial.
- In the Site settings menu, activate AudioEye installation.
- Select Shopify from the Installation methods dropdown.
- Copy the AudioEye Site Code using the Copy code button.
Shopify Installation
- Log in to Shopify.
- Select Online Stores > Themes.
- Select Edit code from the Actions menu beside the Customize button (it looks like 3 dots).
- Select theme.liquid within the Layout folder.
- Create an empty line at the end of the code block just before the closing </body> tag.
- Paste the AudioEye Site Code in the new line before the closing </body> tag.
- Save the changes.
Verify Installation
- Navigate back to the Installation page on the AudioEye Platform.
- Activate the Verify Installation button.
- Locate the AudioEye Accessibility Help Desk button on the website.
Still having trouble?
- Verify that the domain registered on the AudioEye Platform matches the domain of the site that AudioEye is being installed on.
- Note that it may take up to 24 hours after users have visited the site for accessibility monitoring data to start populating on the AudioEye Platform.
- Users with limited permissions may need to send installation instructions to an administrator. On the Installation page on the AudioEye Platform, activate the Send Instructions button to send instructions to an administrator’s email address.
- Consider using a different installation method, such as installing AudioEye with Google Tag Manager.
